About me

I am a highly experienced and highly trained practitioner psychologist, therapist and coach.

I have been working as a qualified practitioner psychologist since 1997, following completion of my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Counselling Psychology and my Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology. I subsequently undertook a post-qualification training in cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), a type of therapy in which I specialise.

I am an Accredited CBT Therapist, Supervisor and Trainer with the British Association for Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapies, the lead organisation for CBT in the UK. In 2017 I was awarded a Fellowship of the British Association for Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapies in recognition of my contribution to this field of scholarship.

In addition to my therapeutic practice, I work as a coach specialising in executive and health and well-being coaching. I am a Registered Coaching Psychologist with the British Psychological Society, offering a wide range of bespoke coaching interventions to individuals and organisations. In 2016, I was presented with the British Psychological Society’s Achievement Award for Distinguished Contributions to Coaching Psychology.

I am a Visiting Professor at Middlesex University and also a Visiting Professor in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Counselling at the University of Suffolk. I work nationally and internationally designing and delivering bespoke training programmes in both coaching and mental health.

In addition to my work as a psychologist, therapist, coach, supervisor and trainer, I have written for the popular press on how to manage psychological problems and am the author of a wide range of academic and self-help articles and books.
